Welcome to NSO and a new year, a new council and new things from NSO. We are now up and running again with the ability to leave comments. As well the look has changed and new bits are being added in an ongoing manner. There are still lots of pieces to fit into this software puzzle for me but I am slowly making my way.
Two prominent additions are the photo gallery and the google map. I will be able to link a map to any post or page to indicate where an event or the site of an article is located. The map is very easy to use and one can move the view around and increase or decrease the magnification or change the actual view to a road map or terrain map. What is currently shown is the satellite view with the road map overlayed which is called the ‘hybrid’ view. Check out where your house is or how much green space there is left! (And yes I have noticed all the mistakes in the google maps regarding names ie: Piers Island is labeled Portland Island)
Hopefully I can gradually get more photos in the gallery and especially in the heritage album. I will look at submitted photos but with no guarantees they will get posted.
New sections will be added soon, farms, council, cycling, recreation, etc. maybe even receipes.
I will also be looking at submitted articles on life in North Saanich and I am open to tips, suggestions new ideas.
